For Immediate Release

VICTORIA, BC The first annual Independent Blackberry User Summit (IBUS), taking place in Amsterdam on January 26-27, will feature noted technology speaker and entrepreneur Tim Vasko, CEO of business systems consultant Convergent Media Network (CMN). Vasko will present current advances in wireless devices and their impact on global enterprise, including the potential for wireless technology to revolutionize public health care delivery.

"In 2005, 500 billion text messages were sent over mobile devices globally," says Vasko. "This exponential increase in messaging capacity and information exchange is changing every industry, including health care."

"Wireless, mobile devices such as the Blackberry permit sensitive and important information to be delivered between distant users on a one-to-one basis, through a network that is increasingly secure and private," explains Vasko.

"The speed and ease of communication creates new convenience and security for people working in every type of enterprise. In the case of health care providers and their patients, it creates new cost savings and security in activities such as prescription orders and sales. We have taken what we provide across many industries and focused these successes with our technology to help solve the process and communication crisis in health care."

"Patients, physicians, pharmacists and other health care providers can use wireless devices to access the world wide web and communicate critical medical information much more quickly and efficiently, as proven across other industries" says Vasko. "This new efficiency is great for businesses in all sectors, but in health care, it will save lives, personal insurance and government health care budgets. Ours is an active approach to solutions rather than a passive approach to simply addressing information; we are providing active technology for actual e-health interactions today."

IBUS 2006 is organized by the International BlackBerry User Group (IBBUG), an industry association that shares information and experience in the use of BlackBerry devices for corporate enterprise. CMN is a leader in providing wireless systems software to support mobile communications, particularly in industry, business, and in health and medical field.

The BlackBerry handheld device, which supports both voice telecommunications and text messaging, currently has 2 million subscribers and wireless coverage in over 30 countries. ARC Group predicts that mobile services - such as messaging, games and music - will be worth $126 billion worldwide by 2008.
